The ladybug

This week has been very difficult for me emotionally in terms of our adoption. As everyone who reads this blog knows and from a previous post I am really struggling with the wait. Some days are better than others but this week has been pretty hard. As I struggle I find myself asking God to "give me the strength and patience to get through this wait." On Wednesday night I asked God to "please just give me a sign so I can continue to hold on." In the China adoption community the ladybug is a sign of good luck and also symbolizes that referrals are on their way.

As I walked into the living room yesterday I noticed a small red speck on the floor. I assumed it was one of the holly berries from a Christmas wreath. As I bent down to pick it up I noticed that is was a LADYBUG! Ladybugs definitely are not common around this time of year when it is 30 degrees out and there is snow on the ground. I believe it was a sign for us to continue on in this journey and have FAITH that He will carry us through.

What a wonderful sign at such a moment where you're needing it. I hope and pray the wait will be ending soon for you. Thinking of you!

You have really been on my mind, Melinda...I had a hunch that these days have been hard. I'm thankful that our Lord gave you that sweet reminder to hold on! What an adorable little ladybug...they always cheered me up during our wait, too.

Look how beautifully made God created this special ladybug as your sign of hope and faith. No less perfect is the child He has created that is waiting for you to bring home in His perfect time. Lean on His strength and His understanding. Waiting is never easy but necessary for the lessons that God wants to reveal to us. His hand is upon your wait-so that when the wait has ended the joy will be magnificent. I love you.

Yup...last week was a every rough week, as you know. That is an amazing gift! I'm hopefully things will start happening soon. Ask me that question last week and I would have given a totally different response but this week I'm feeling allot more positive! Happy CNY!! Adele

Melinda,
That is so very much like God... what a great sign from him to hold on. I can't wait for you to get that call that they found Mia. I hope it is very soon!
